First Official Routine of the
Prancing Pony Players!
The One
Ring Circus was a tiny miracle. Members
lived at both ends of California and commuted
extremely long distances to record and
rehearse. After the Return of the King Oscar
Party, the group decided to split so
that members could pursue their own
projects. Roughly half of the One Ring
Circus formed a smaller costuming group that
eventually named itself the Prancing Pony Players
and has gone on to perform at many
functions. While the group didn't have its
name by the 2004 Comic-Con masquerade, it did have
a new routine - a spoof based on the musical theme
to the "Friends" TV series - and a new set of costumes
based on the armored versions of Lord of
the Rings characters. "Friends" won an industry award
at San Diego Comic-Con 2004.
